Encouraging, equipping and empowering teachers with creative technology

Every Teacher Has a Web Site (April Fools!)

Ok, that's a pretty broad vision, but never say never! I remember when it was unimaginable that every teacher would have a computer. How many of you have a classroom website? What is your advise to other teachers who are thinking about creating one? What is your district's vision for classroom teacher presence on the web? Check out what Osceola County has just started for their teachers. It's only a week old so not that much content is uploaded yet, but check back to see if the teachers catch the vision.

As always, I am
Ubiquitously yours,
K

At our school, most teachers are using the iNetTeacher service. It is really easy to use, and a quick setup. I suggest starting out with something simple like this, or a class wiki, and then branch out from there.

Dear Ubiquitously: Classroom websites are great for parent communication and accountability. I opted for an easier layout and less hedaches, a Weblog. Her is the address:
http://sites.epals.com/mcmoran4th/ though being that is a Weblog is extremely secure but you can look around if interested e-me to give you an administrator password to see inside.
I love ePals, it's free, easy to maintain and handle and parents love it. We update homework, news, class pictures(with previous parent permission of course) You can also set-up your whole school if you want to. Try it, really easy and has plenty of resources in it as well.
This is the main site where you can set up your own. http://www.epals.com/about/tour/schoolblog.tpl
